Marion, Ohio. (willing to drive up to 4 hours). 2 Y/O FEMALE AKC REGISTERED GSD (DOB: 11/22/23). Her name is 'Harley'. Background: Harley has been with her current Shepherd parent since she was weaned after being purchased from a pet store. She is a full blood AKC registered German Shepherd who has been loved and raised in the home. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids. Good with most dogs, READ BELOW. Unknown with cats, READ BELOW. House trained. Crate trained. Any known medical issues?: None known. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None reported. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Very High. Weighs 65 lbs. Currently on food unknown. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Playtime, balls, squeaky toys, attention, being active, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, playing with kids, playing with dogs, fetch, sleeping in bed with her person, being near her person, pig ears, toys of all kinds, and going on adventures. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. Harley also attended Special Training Classes as a puppy. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. *Good on a Leash?: No - leash manners need improvement. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: No. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'Harley is truly the sweetest GSD we've ever seen. Everyone who meets her comments on her sweet temperament. She's never even shown suspicion of a human�'�|everyone is her friend.' Re Homing because�'�|: Recently, while on a walk, a neighbor's small breed dog (a Yorkie) growled at Harley. Harley grabbed the small dog in her mouth and shook it, and unfortunately the dog later died from its injuries. Harley has never shown aggression toward people and had never displayed aggression toward dogs prior to this incident, but her high prey drive toward small animals makes situations with small pets unsafe. I believe that on top of having High Prey Drive , that she was triggered by the small breed growling at her. Because of this incident, this situation has become too dangerous in the current living environment where there are small animals and neighbors with small dogs. The Current Shepherd Parent wants to ensure she goes to a home where she can be safe and successful. Harley will be a fantastic companion for the right person. Additional notes: Harley is not aggressive toward people and adores children, but due to her prey drive she cannot be around small animals. Will thrive best�'�|?: In an active home with NO small animals, preferably WITH kids, and with, and understands managing High Prey Drive and can give her exercise, structure, and adventure.
