IT TAKES A VILLAGE, AND YOU ARE MINE Those of you that rescue/adopt these Shepherds in need instead of paying a Breeder, YOU are the REAL TRUE HEROES.***Thank you so much%A4%8D. [I do my best to be as accurate as I possibly can in these profiles. I disclose all that is disclosed to me]. [Case opened on 03/16/26]. URGENT!!! Scio, Ohio. (willing to drive up to 3 hours). 5 Y/O MALE GSD (EST DOB: 3/16/21 ). His name is 'Chance'. Background: Chance has been with his current Shepherd parent for about 4 years after originally coming from a breeder. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. GOOD with kids. Good with dogs, PLEASE READ BELOW. VGOOD with cats, not aggressive but will chase. He's never lived inside with a cat, but has interacted with outdoor cats. However, he has attacked a goat before and pulled some hair out. House trained, but currently being kept outside because the CSP has moved and cannot have indoor pets. Crate trained (but when inside he can free roam the home with good behavior). Any known medical issues?: None known. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Yes - at around 6 months old he was abandoned at a business and later returned to the breeder before being rehomed again. ENERGY LEVEL: High. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High. Weighs 85 lbs. Currently on Pedigree High Protein dog food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: No. *dogs?: No. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Unknown. Chance is good with the people he knows but has not been socialized with strangers. Loves: Balls, swimming, fetch, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, sleeping in bed with his person, being near his person, Milk Bones, and chew bones. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: Yes. Two incidents: Please also keep in mind that both of these incidents were right after a major change in the CSP's living environment: A breakup, a move and a new relationship in a new home with other new dogs. 'ۢ One incident occurred when his Person was attempting to break up dogs that were fighting and his arm was bitten during the situation (likely accidental). 'ۢ The second occurred during a thunderstorm when his Person was trying to move him into the garage kennel and Chance turned and bit his arm. Both incidents occurred over a year or two ago. Chance is known to be afraid of thunder and fireworks, which likely triggered the second incident. Additional behavior notes: Chance does have food aggression and should be fed separately and handled with proper management. Chance is also very afraid of the vet, so once back in the room, needs to be muzzled when the vet is ready to start looking him over. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'Chance is a very loyal and smart boy, he will play ball all day with you if he could and loves following commands. He would thrive in a home as an only pet. He has very good house manners and also loves car rides'. Re Homing because'|: Chance was always great living with other dogs, but after he moved into the current Shepherd Parent's girlfriend's home with her dogs, there has been an issue. It is unknown who first started the conflicts, but these dogs do not get along. This could be a PERSONAL issue and Chance may still okay with other dogs, but what we do know is that Chance does seem to thrive better in a home with NO other dogs. The Current Shepherd Parent's girlfriend has a baby and it has become too stressful trying to keep the dogs separated. With that being said, Chance does very well around the baby. With the current living situation and safety concerns, they feel it is best for Chance to find a home that can better meet his needs. Chance will be a great companion for the right person. Will thrive best'|?: Chance would do best with an experienced Shepherd Parent, preferably with NO other pets, someone who has time to exercise and play with him regularly, and who understands how to manage high-energy working breed dogs. Comes with: Collar and leash. RehomingFee $175. If not on Facebook, please text me for more pics and full Profile.
