Baltimore, MD Eddie (aka Kellan) was surrendered to the shelter by his family after he bit their young child. According to the owner, they had Eddie for a few months. They got him from friends. Unfortunately, Eddie caused a bite or a nip to their son when he was teasing him and taking away a chew bone from Eddie. A second nip happened when Eddie was napping next to his owner on the couch and the same young child was jumping quickly towards him. We are not sure if he was startled or protecting his owner. Because of that, Eddie can only go to a home with older children and adults. Eddie is a one year old apricot miniature poodle, who weighs 12 lbs. He has a curly apricot colored soft coat. He is now neutered and micro-chipped. He is up to date on vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Eddie has been around different size and age dogs at his foster home and has done well with all of them. He has been very friendly meeting new people, even older children without any issues. He greets them with his tail wagging and seeks attention for being petted and loved on. It took Eddie about a week to get acclimated at his foster home. At the beginning he was nervous, and had issues being crated, but with time he felt more comfortable and more outgoing. At night he sleeps on his bed in the bedroom, and when his foster has to leave the home he is ok being created, but not a big fan going in and may need a little encouragement. Eddie is also now house-trained. When he first arrived at them home he did lift his leg on the table leg. He wore a belly band for a week or so until he no longer was inclined to mark. This often happens with dogs who are not trained and after neuter, they grow out of it. He hasn't had any accidents in weeks now. Eddie loves going for walks, car rides, playing with the other dogs in the yard, and of course snuggling next to his humans. He is a real little love and cuddle bug.
