About Mondo

Meet Mondo�'�| a 5-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua who may be small, but carries the confidence of a dog at least the size of a pickup truck. Mondo is what we like to call a Classic Chihuahua Model. If Chihuahuas came with an instruction manual, he would be pictured on the cover. Features include: �'ۢ Deep devotion to his person �'ۢ Built-in home security alert system �'ۢ A healthy respect for strangers until properly vetted �'ۢ Strong opinions about bedtime (which should be in the human bed, thank you very much) Mondo loves his toys and will happily entertain himself tossing them around. He also does well with other dogs and is happy to have canine roommates. Just understand that he will still consider himself the head of neighborhood security. When Mondo hears something suspicious�'�| like a car door�'�| a squirrel�'�| the wind�'�| or a leaf that might be plotting something�'�| he will issue an official Chihuahua alert. This is simply his way of saying, 'I have the situation under control, human.' Once the investigation is complete, he returns to normal activities like toy play, patrolling the yard, and supervising his people. Mondo is housetrained and trustworthy enough to free roam, which means he can handle the responsibility of the whole house without redecorating it. Because he enjoys his outdoor patrol duties, a physically fenced yard is required so he can safely conduct his security rounds. Now let's talk about strangers. Mondo subscribes to the 'stranger danger until proven snack-worthy' philosophy. New people should expect a short orientation period while he decides if they are trustworthy. Once you're approved, though, you'll discover a sweet, loyal little dog who bonds deeply with his humans. At night, Mondo clocks out from security duty and reports to his official sleeping station: your bed. Preferably under the covers or tucked close to his person where he can recharge for another day of keeping the household safe. If you're looking for a funny, loyal, slightly dramatic little shadow who will love you fiercely and keep you informed about absolutely everything happening within a 200-foot radius�'�| Mondo is ready to apply for the job.
