Meet Cooper! Goofy, gorgeous, and gangly, Cooper is a 5-year-old boy with a big heart and a loyal spirit. Whether it's a game, a walk, or relaxing nearby, Cooper is happiest when he's part of the action. Cooper is a mix of Great Dane and Catahoula Leopard Dog. At 89 pounds he'll need someone with large-dog experience. He loves exercise and thrives on having a daily routine, so he'll do best with an active and partly outdoorsy person or family. Cooper's owner moved to MA to take care of parents. He grew close to one 'grandparent' who has now passed away, while the other needs a lot of care. Cooper has always been a sensitive dog, but the stressors have made him feel unsettled and more nervous. Though Cooper feels a little anxious when meeting people for the first time, with a little patience and kindness he warms up quickly. His personality shines, revealing a sweet, affectionate companion who loves being around his people and getting attention. Since he hasn't had much training, he'll need some work especially since he is a big dog. However, he is very intelligent and whenever he returns from boarding he is noticeably more confident. With a calm, consistent environment he really is a deeply devoted and loving dog. He lives with another dog who is patient with him, but he has no experience with cats or kids. He's likely best in a home with only adults, but the right person who has older kids could also be a good match. With proper meet and greets, a compatible resident dog may also work out! This is a home-to-home adoption with guidance from a rescue that stresses responsible rehoming. Contact [email protected] and tell her Animal Rescue Konnection sent you. Thank you!
