Name: Balto Age: 5 to 6 years old Breed: Husky (41 lbs) Sex: Male (Neutered) Location: Houston, TX Balto is a low-maintenance, sweet guy who only wants love and attention. Vet Info: Current owner found Balto as a malnourished 37 lb stray on 2/25/26. Owner took him to the vet for IV Fluids and bloodwork with great results (a small growth removed on his right elbow). He is neutered, UTD on shots, had routine dental (with tartar removal on back two teeth), and microchipped (no number). Heartworm negative. Hasn't been seen by veterinary ophthalmologist so cause of blindness unknown. Owner reports he was so good and well behaved at the vet. Dog Info: Balto is a very sweet medium size dog and gentle. He has shown no aggression to any other dogs. He has not even barked. He does these cute howls. He loves walks and exploring his surroundings. He loves standing outside when its windy. He is not possessive with treats, toys, or food. He is currently an indoor dog confined to one area of the house (an AC garage.) Balto is housebroken and leash-trained. Owner describes him as outgoing and is good with men, women, cats, and dogs (both male and female). No bite history. He may be nervous and pace in new environments, but will adapt well once he feels safe. He gets excited to hear your voice and loves ear scratches. He is calm, trusting, and loves being close to people. He enjoys lying besise you and by your feet and greets you with excitement. He doesn't like to be alone, but loves car rides if you want him to tag along! He does best going outside about 4-5 times a day to pee. He bumps into things while walking, so it is best to keep him beside so he know where to walk. Owner got him interactive toys to keep him engaged and he is very treat driven. He loves his treats but is very picky. He does not like kibble (currently enjoying Fresh Pet Dog Food.) This brave boy is also not scared of thunder! **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
