About Cocoa

Update 3/22/26 Cocoa has seen our vet and we were told her coat will not grow back in. The vet said this is a gene that the Pomeranian breed can carry and this is why Cocoa has lost her coat. Cocoa is a Pomeranian/Yorkie mix. She weighs 8 pounds and is around 5 years old. Poor little Cocoa has lived a not so great life. When she came to rescue she was covered in mud and as you see in the picture has major hair loss on her back,tail and ears. Her skin is in good condition and there is no infection. She has had a medicated bath and leave on lotion applied. This does not of course affect the sweetness and loving of this little girl. She is happy and healthy and absolutely loves her people. We are not completely sure of her back story but we believed she lived outside or in a barn. She does faithfully use her doggy door out the adoption center and will need a fenced area outside to go potty as we have not had her on a leash yet. Cocoa will be heading to our vet for her full vetting (spay, vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test/prevention).
