The Terre Haute Humane Society (THHS) is teaming up with the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Terre Haute to create the 'New Leash on Life' program. The program pairs shelter dogs with inmate trainers to provide the dogs with nearly $5,000 worth of obedience training to increase the dogs' adoptability while providing vocational training to the inmates. We currently have two (2) dogs; Shadow and Miles, that are ready to graduate from the program and ready to pass the Canine Good Citizenship test. They're German Shepard mixes approximately one (1) year old. They're medium-sized and fairly high energy but would be a great addition to any family. Adoption includes spay or neuter, worming, vaccinations (excluding rabies), microchip, free vet visit at participating offices, and 30 days of health insurance provided by Pet Health (some restrictions apply). Any assistance you can provide to find forever homes for these dogs would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the Terre Haute Humane Society for further information.
