This little snaggletooth appears to have had a pretty shitty life. He came into rescue with big feelings and even bigger defenses. He hasn't always known what to do with either one, and he hasn't always made it easy for the people trying to help him. But consistency, boundaries, and a whole lot of care have made a HUGE difference. He has softened. A lot. His favorite thing in the world is his person. Once he decides you're his, he's basically glued to you-which is adorable in some ways and something his person will need to help him manage in others. He needs someone who can appreciate that attachment while maintaining boundaries: his person isn't something he gets to possess, and the world doesn't fall apart when they're not right beside him. He's looking for someone patient enough to give him time, clear enough to give him boundaries, and committed enough to maintain the progress he's made. And then there's grooming. The little dude has a high-maintenance coat. When he first arrived, he was basically a Tasmanian devil on the grooming table. Now we're getting to 'atta boy' territory. That's a BIG deal. If you adopt him, I'll happily keep giving him his regular haircut for free while he continues to build confidence. They're not going to win any grooming awards, but they get the job done. Female dogs: Yes. He's generally much better with the ladies. Male dogs: Possible, but you'll need to manage the relationship. Cats: Okay. Kids: Probably not. He isn't a perfect dog. He isn't looking for a perfect person, either. He's looking for his person. He's come a long way.
