About Clementine

Meet Clementine Sweet Clementine was rescued from a high kill shelter. Where other dogs were clamoring for attention, Clementine had the look of a resigned dog just waiting for her fate. We saw what an angel she is and brought her to the safety of our no kill shelter. Clementine is a gorgeous orange red two-year-old lab mix. She weighs 50 lbs. She has warm brown eyes, an expressive face and a soft coat. Clementine is quiet and chill, almost stoic. She loves laying on her bed wrapped in blankets and never participates in the chaos around her. She is gentle and friendly. She is exceptionally patient and quietly confident. She waits her turn for food, treats and loving. She doesn't jump but will gently wag her tail and lean into you when it's her turn for pets and scratches. Clementine loves people and does great with other dogs. Just no cats. Clementine will chase cats; it's why she was taken to a kill shelter to begin with. Given her relaxed and calm ways, we think Clementine would be good with kids. She appears to be housetrained. She walks easily on a leash and enjoys car rides. She sits calmly looking out and watching the world go by. She's a great ridealong dog. Clementine is the sort of soul dog who just gets into your heart. She seems to absorb the world around her and tame the turmoil with her demeanor. It's the strangest thing because we feel calmer in her presence. With her quiet and humble ways, she is that constant companion who will be with you in good times and bad. Clementine doesn't waver but is a constant heartbeat that you can depend upon. Clementine would love to snuggle with you on a comfy couch, a sunny porch or by a warm fire. She is an oasis of beauty and strength, all without any effort. We don't know what sort of life she had before we rescued her, but we know we want to help ensure her a life of love, fun, companionship, care and safety going forward. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
