TO BE EUTHANIZED 3/12/26 IN NYC He sings! A Volunteer Writes: 'One of our favorite things to do is discover the hidden talents of the dogs we meet. Give paw? Sit pretty? Our most beloved cues is definitely roll over. But occasionally, we uncover a truly unique gift, one that knocks us off of our feet, and with Walter that was inadvertently finding out he could sing! A mere squeak of the toy sent him into flurry of howling, pursed lips, nose aimed toward the sky, AWOOOO! The most stunning baritone we've ever heard! And when we give him our best alto note, he matches is a perfect harmony. How did we every acquire such a musical genius and why hasn't he been adopted yet?! Walter was found tied to work out equipment in an outdoor park. He was initially so scared and fractious but started to calm down with baby talk. Throughout his over 50 day stay thus far, Walter has greeted people with a wiggly body and been social. Walter is recommended to go to a home with no other dogs and kids over the age of 13. If you think Walter would be a good addition to your choir, I mean, home go to the Queens ACC and ask to meet him or call Kat . Walter is approx. 4 years old, 57 pounds and his ID is #244556.' WATCH THE REEL THE VOLUNTEERS MADE FOR WALTER: Cut and paste this into your search bar or text me and I will send it to you . https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EGm2SNsDy/ What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I love to be loved, but on my own terms. Let's brush up on some canine body language together! I would do best in a home with only adult humans (Age 13 and over). WALTER, Id 245556, @4 Yrs. Old, 57 lbs., Male Queens ACC, Medium Mixed Breen, Brown/White Surrender Reason: Stray, 1/13/26 Behavior Assessment Rating: LEVEL 4 Recommendations: No young children under 13 Single Pet Home Recommend no dog parks. Medical Behavior Rating: 2. BLUE AT RISK MEMO: Walter is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. In the care center, Walter had shown some fearfulness and barrier frustration in kennel, including barking, lunging, and growling at handlers and staff. Walter has improved in the care center over time, but still remains fearful around new staff or people that want to interact. Walter is highly social and is very vocal with staff and volunteers in the care center. Medically, Walter is apparently healthy. Poor boy has been through so much and just needed a few days to adjust to these scary surroundings , after all he smells death of the other dogs , i would try to protect myself too. Imagine being abandon and losing everything and thrown into a very scary place . Walter is warming up and showing what a sweetheart he is.
