LOS ANGELES ANIMAL SERVICES- WEST LOS ANGELES SHELTER- ADORABLE, 26 lb, 11 MONTH MALE CHOW X PUPPY 'BUCK' ID #A2254443 NEEDS LOVING AND RESPONSIBLE ADOPTER OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP TO SAVE HIS LIFE, BEFORE HE IS EUTHANIZED FOR SPACE! Help! This LA City shelter is full, and has already issued a warning on 3/10 of possible future euthanasia for this dear puppy. Poor Buck was found as stray and very scared upon intake, but has warmed up to staff and can be seen in videos enjoying being cuddled, as well as interacting gently with other dogs . He is estimated said to be only 11 months old and weighs 26 lbs, and appears to be a smaller chow mix. The recent shelter notes we were provided state: 'He is a sweet, scared boy who feels somewhat threatened when someone just tries to forcefully leash him. He requires a slow and gentle approach. He enjoyed the fresh air and the sun. We then went to spend more time in the small yard. He hid underneath the bench but I didn't try to force him out. Today I leashed him after I entered his cubby from the front instead of from the back. I just got down to his level and gently leashed him. He is just scared. We went to the side yard to get some fresh air while DPFL was in lunch break. Buck wanted to stay in the training kennel so I just let him do what he wanted after he relieved himself.' A complete list of both medical and behavior notes can be provided upon request. Please note Buck recently finished a quarantine after a volunteer cornered him and he bit her finger in fear. While this bite requires no stitches, the incident has caused young Buck to be placed on the shelter's urgent list where he could be soon placed on the shelter's euthanasia list soon. The shelter issued a warning on 3/10 and is asking for help. This sweet but shy young man can be adopted or rescued through the shelter but will require the entity to sign a bite disclosure. He was just neutered by the shelter and is ready to go home. If you are interested to adopt or rescue young Buck, please contact the shelter directly by calling or using the listing link or by calling (888) 452-7381.
