You wouldn't think Daisy had a rough life if you met her today. After years of running loose and having puppies, she's really enjoying her time stretching out on a couch and getting daily belly rubs. Daisy loves food, which is great for training but means we put her in her crate for meal times. I haven't had any fights break out, but I did notice she had a guarding tendency and haven't left any room for error. My guess is this stems from food instability during her life. She loves to carry around toys, and it's taken her a few months to realize she can actually play with them. Before, she used to hide them in the hopes that they wouldn't disappear, but she's learned that we keep her well-stocked with her squeaky companions. Daisy is crate trained and leash-aware (meaning she walks fine on a leash; she's not pulling, but she's not hanging back at a heel). She also has a keep eye, so if you leave the crate unlocked or a gate cracked she'll clock it pretty fast. Even if she get out, though, she's fast to get back home-she likes cuddles and food too much. While she respects my cats in the house, outside cats are a different story. She will pursue them. Beside that, she's been great with the other dogs I have in the house. She's a phenomenal mother (she brought her pups to me in the pouring rain), and she's been respectful of my three dogs in her time with me. Daisy would be a great family dog.
