About Roxy

Roxy is a beautiful 2-year-old, cream-colored, spayed Anatolian Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger sense of loyalty. She came to us after her previous owner was unable to keep her contained on their farm, which had many animals. Since arriving at the shelter, we've learned just how special she truly is. Roxy has wonderful manners and an easygoing personality. She is fully potty trained, walks nicely on a leash with little to no pulling, and has shown no possessiveness around toys or food. She has also done well with the dogs and cats she has met. Roxy recently spent time in a foster home where we were able to learn even more about her. She absolutely loves being part of a family and enjoys affection, cuddles, and relaxing with her people. At the same time, Roxy is a smart and capable dog who thrives when she has a purpose. Her Anatolian Shepherd heritage gives her natural guardian instincts, and she truly shines in an environment where she has a 'job.' An ideal home for Roxy would be a family with a farm or hobby farm where she can enjoy space, mental stimulation, and a role that allows her to use those wonderful guardian instincts. She would love a family that includes her in daily life and allows her to come inside to spend quality time with them. While in foster with children, Roxy naturally took on the role of protector and began guarding them. This can be a wonderful trait when it comes to unfamiliar strangers, but she will need a family that can continue to guide her and help her understand when visitors are welcome. Roxy is also very aware of her surroundings and will chase wildlife, so secure fencing will be important in her new home. What truly stands out about Roxy is how intelligent and eager to learn she is. She picks up on things quickly and carries herself with calm confidence and excellent manners. With the right home that provides structure, purpose, and love, Roxy will be an incredibly loyal companion and a devoted member of the family.
