About Raven

Raven is a 1-year-old, 36 lb blue and tan spayed female Doberman mix who came to us as a stray alongside her mom. Since arriving, she has proven to be one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs you could meet. Raven is currently learning sit and heel, and she already understands off. She is mostly potty-trained, though she may benefit from a refresher as she settles into a new home and routine. On leash, Raven walks very nicely and typically does not pull. The only time she may get a little excited is when she spots another dog she would like to meet. Even then, she responds very well to a gentle leash correction and settles right back down. Raven is an extremely submissive dog with humans, dogs, and even cats. She gets very excited at the thought of meeting other dogs, but once she reaches them she quickly submits and allows them to sniff her from head to tail. After introductions, she may or may not try to initiate play depending on how comfortable she feels. Because of her gentle and submissive nature, we believe Raven would greatly benefit from joining a home with one or more friendly resident dogs. Having confident canine companions could help show her how to 'dog' - teaching her how to play, interact with toys, and build confidence both on and off leash. Raven has shown no signs of possessiveness with food or toys, and she is incredibly easygoing about sharing her space. She is truly the sweetest and most meek girl, and she seems happiest when she knows she is making her person proud. Raven is the kind of dog who would do absolutely anything to please the people she loves. With her gentle temperament and loving nature, she would likely do wonderfully in a family environment. If there are children in the home, Raven would very likely become their ultimate best friend.
