About Poppie

I've been caring for a dog named Poppie that had an owner who was low income with mental health disability��%BD%A0as well as just receiving news that she has stage 4 breast cancer that spread to lungs, brain, and kidneys. I took him in because the person who was supposed to have been caring for him had left him unattended and unfed on the street for 2 weeks and I don't have the heart to leave him in that situation. I have been trying to get back into��%BD%A0contact with the owner but she is no longer within reach. The problem lies in that I have two older dogs who are not dog friendly. I've had him for a total of about three weeks prior to��%BD%A0him having been abandoned for��%BD%A02 weeks. I have reached out to every possible rescue and person to try and find a solution but have come up empty handed. You are the last resort in this situation to help him before I have to take him to animal services or humane society which I really have been trying my hardest to not resort to. I would love to find him a wonderful home since he is such a sweet dog. He is best suited for a single dog home since he has some trauma from a dog on the street that had started a fight and I feel as though a shelter like animal services would only traumatize him more. I have since him being in my care got him neutered and tested for intestinal parasites which came back negative. I really hope you can find it within your capacity to help him since he has been through so much within the past couple of months. Thank you so much for your time and consideration in this matter.
