DAISY is a 7 year old, 10 pound Shih Tzu surrendered to us to find a new home. She is a loving, people-focused, dog-friendly little girl who will be a wonderful companion. She was matted and needed to be shaved down but her fur is going to grow in beautifully! DAISY is a sweet and adorable little girl who settled in quickly with her foster family. She loves people and happily follows her foster mom everywhere. It is clear that she is happiest when she is close to her person. She enjoys being held and petted and is very much a lap dog who wants to be close to her human most of the time. Because she loves human companionship so much, she would do best with someone who is home most of the day. DAISY gets along well with other dogs and will sometimes play with her foster brother, Dexter. She enjoys having canine company and is learning a lot from the other dogs in her foster home, and she will do best in a home with another small dog to help continue building her confidence. Cats and children are unknown. DAISY is making progress with her potty training but is not fully house-trained yet. Her foster takes her outside every 2-3 hours, which works well for her. If she waits too long, she may have an accident, but she has recently started using a pee pad. She has not yet learned to use the doggy door and prefers someone to open the door and take her outside. She is also not leash trained yet, so an adopter will need to work on that if the home does not have a fenced yard. DAISY enjoys toys, especially ones that squeak, and she is very food motivated. She loves to eat and gets excited at mealtime. She can easily use dog stairs to get on and off the bed and couch. At night, she sleeps on the bed with her foster family, usually curled up right next to her person. DAISY is spayed, up to date on shots, had a dental, is heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
