About June Bug

Junior was discovered chained and padlocked to cinder blocks outdoors. He was eating sand to survive. He was severely malnutritioned, dehydrated, never taken to a vet and found to have intestinal worms and to be heartworm +. His owner was apparently hospitalized for cancer with a grim prognosis. This all did not happen to the dog overnight. And was apparently never cared for properly. He is getting the medical care he needs now after paying to transport him from the next state over and taking on his medical expenses which currently added up to thousands of dollars. This dog was discovered by neighbors who informed a woman in the area that voulenteers for your orginization in her local area. Houston County Georgia. Apparently the shelters is full as well as the Humane Society. After her post on Facebook grabbed my attention I private messangered her. She was hesitant at first and then spoke with me on a FaceTime until she was comfortable. I then arranged for a transport to get the dog to my area a state away. J She arranged to bathe him and then meet the transporter. This Good Samaritan is Amanda Leigh Sims. I met the dog upon arrival at my local veterinary ER. I have since had him and been working with him daily to improve his weight and teach him. Junior a.k.a. June bug can be a handful, rightly so after being chained up for a long, long time. The dog apparently has never seen a toy and pays them no mind, including tennis balls, which is a shock. Him being skin and bones was not something I could ignore. It was discovered upon pick up that he was padlocked to chains to cement blocks and left outside without food and water or anyone to care for him. He wants to learn and is eager to please, but is still a puppy at heart. He's very eager to learn and requires patience to work with. My heart goes out to him. He has been trained and fully rehabilitated and awaits his forever loving home. He is a wonderful boy and we will be sad letting him go.
