URGENT MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED! Are you located near West Los Angeles? Would you like to feel the joy of assisting a dog in distress?? Allow me to introduce Aspen.... just two nights ago, Aspen was out for an evening stroll with his owner when a loud vehicle startled him. In a panic, he ran into the street and was struck by a passing truck. He fell, injured, bleeding, and broken. His owner brought him to us because he couldn't afford the necessary treatment for his beloved companion and faced the heartbreaking choice of paying for care or having Aspen euthanized. He reached out to us, choosing to save Aspen's life by entrusting him to our care. We quickly transported Aspen to the West LA VCA Specialty Hospital, where he has been stabilized with fluids and pain medication. The outlook is positive if he can undergo surgery for a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). Unfortunately, Aspen's femoral head in his right hip is shattered beyond repair. The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, provided Aspen stabilizes and can safely receive general anesthesia. He is expected to be discharged Saturday afternoon or Sunday. We are seeking a dedicated foster home near the West Los Angeles VCA who can also assist with Aspen's post-operative visits. If we can secure at least a two-week commitment, we can arrange for ongoing care or find a long-term foster or even a foster-to-adopt situation. The prognosis for this young 3-year-old is promising. He can enjoy a long, pain-free life if we can get him the surgical treatment he needs and into a foster home that can support him during his crate rest with limited physical activity. What do you think?? Can you lend a hand?? We cannot proceed without a plan for this boy! Another way to assist is by considering a small donation towards his surgery if you are able. We understand there are numerous fundraisers happening everywhere. Which one resonates with you? Aspen raises his good paw and pleads, 'please help me!' I am such a gentle boy and cherish life. www.socalweimrescue.org/pages/donate
