About Leo

Catahoula / Pit Bull
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Leo's Fact Sheet -Breed: Unsure. Most likely a Catahoula/ Pit Mix -Weight: approximately 60 lbs, we will know for sure on March 14th after his vet appointment -Age: 6 years old (born approximately February of 2020) -Leo rides well in the car and loves the car. He is accusotmed to traveling and spending time in a camper, as his family used to travel for work often. -Behavioral notes: ~From birth to the age of three, Leo was with 2 dogs and 4 cats and never had any issues. Leo is currently with 5 children ages 1-14 and 1 cat. He has a submissive personality with other dogs, as family members have visited with their small dogs and he is more afraid of them than anything else. He is just a big baby. Not dominant or aggressive at all. ~Leo is not crate trained, has not spent time in a crate, doesn't like to be alone, and did not do well in a crate when his previous owners have tried it. -He will be going to the vet and getting as many vaccinations as possible, a heart worm test, and a health certificate on March 14th Reason for Surrendering: Leo's current home has become extremely overwhelmed with young children. There are five children in the household, including one child with autism/ special needs and two babies under the age of two. With so many demands on the parents, Leo has unfortunately been pushed almost entirely outside and away from the family. Leo is a very affectionate, people-oriented dog who desperately wants to be close to his humans. Being isolated outside has been very hard on him, and he has repeatedly tried to get back inside the house just to be near the family. In his attempts to get to them, he has even crashed through doors or windows - not out of aggression, but simply because he is starved for attention and companionship. Leo deserves to live inside with a family who has the time to give him the love and interaction he craves. His current situation is not sustainable, and without rescue placement he will lose his life simply because his home can no longer meet his needs.
