About Tyberius

Tyberius is a pitbull/bull mastiff mix. We have had him since he was 5 weeks old, he is now 5 years old and will be 6 in May. He can be very clingy and needy at times. He would be a great dog with proper training and time invested. Unfortunately my Husband and I cannot afford to care for him in the way that he needs. We are in dire need of a rescue as we have exhausted every possible option for a good home for him. We have nothing left and no time left to continue looking. It is extremely difficult with the breed, size, a some behavioral issues to find someone or somewhere that can give him what he needs. He is very very sweet and protective dog. He does not bark much. He can be very strong willed and stubborn at times! He has not been friendly with most other animals that I have seen but that could be the way that we introduce them, the fact that he is not neutered, that he has not been around other ones besides my other dog (which he is great with she's a smaller boxer mix) or that he had a bad experience with a few other dogs when he was around 2 I'm not for sure. He does not go out of his way to lunge or run after any animal that he sees he just behaves in warning and defense when he is approached by them. He gets along with our other older dog but he does step on her sometimes and doesn't have much sense of spacial awareness.�%A0�%A0He has a thing where he licks the pee spots of our other dog and then slobbers and his head pulses. We have no clue why he does that but it makes him puke if it does it too many times in a row so we don't allow him to do it if we can help it. He also was hit by a car 2 years ago, fortunately he only had cuts and bruises from it and just rolled underneath and not under the tires! He has some skin issues from that and licks and bites himself often. He may also have allergies. I am worried with his breed that he may be used to fight or be put down which is why I am looking to a rescue, because I feel like it would be more suited to deal with his specific needs! He is such a good boy who needs time, training, socializing, and care that we cannot provide him but I am desperatey to make that happen!! Please let me know if you are willing or able to help him!
