I am looking to surrender a 2.5 year old male pit bull Staffordshire terrier. He weighs 55 pounds. He is blue with gray eyes. He is neutered, up to date on shots and is a very sweet and loving dog. Unfortunately he has very high anxiety and requires a home where someone is there with him. Preferably someone who works from home. He was a stray and found at @9 months. Nothing is known about his previous life. He is terrified of crates and some sets of stairs and brooms and vacuums. His bed has no sides. He loves sitting and laying in front of the fireplace. He does not like beef flavored treats. He prefers chicken flavored food. He currently eats Purina pro plan complete essentials. His anxiety is currently being monitored by his Vet. Treatments include: 40 mg of Prozac daily with evening meal. Purina calming probiotic mixed with water to form a gravy. Adaptil diffusers in the house. He is house trained. When left alone he will sometimes have a bowel movement. If his anxiety gets really high while gone he will chew at the door. It takes him several minutes to calm down when you return home. I believe if he had a buddy the anxiety of being home without a person would go down. My condo rules don't allow me to have 2 dogs. I provide an old towel because he feels a need to hide it. He currently goes to day care. He loves all the other dogs and playing with them. He has been around cats. He is very social but wary of strangers entering the home but warms up pretty quick. He loves snuggling. He does take a Claritin a day for allergies and a cosequin for a congenital defect in his back right leg. I'm unable to take him to work with me. His care has taken and toll financially and mentally on the family. Any help you could provide I would greatly appreciate.
