About REMY

LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY - Within 1 hour of Pensacola, FL REMY is a 2-month-old, 6 pound Chihuahua mix who came to us as an owner surrender. He had been left on his own much of the time with very little handling or puppy training and is learning to enjoy attention and affection. REMY is a sweet boy who just needs a little reassurance to help him be his best. Like most puppies, he loves toys, especially his little ball that he will go home with. He proudly runs around with it like it is a prize while the other pups in his foster home chase him. He enjoys playing tug of war and is very gentle with his foster mom, but he will need continued work getting comfortable with handling. REMY needs a home with another playful, small dog to help him learn and build confidence. Because he can be timid, a home without small children would be best, as they could scare him. He has not been tested with cats. REMY is a puppy and is working on potty training. He will need consistency and positive reinforcement. We are requiring a home with a fenced yard. He does bark at noises and it sometimes turns into a little howl, so apartment living would not be a good fit for him. At night, REMY sleeps quietly in a pen on a dog bed and in the morning he rolls onto his back for his daily belly rub. REMY has been to the vet for a wellness check, has had all of his puppy shots, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. When he is old enough he will be scheduled for his neuter at one of our vets, and that is included in his adoption fee. Because he has a pending vet appointment he is local adoption only. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
