About Maria

Maria is a beautiful 2.5-year-old red and white, spayed female Hound mix with a warm heart and an easygoing personality. She came to us as a stray along with her puppies and, despite being very thin at the time, proved to be an incredibly devoted and attentive mother. Now that her puppies are on their way, it's Maria's turn to find a loving forever home. Maria is a friendly, affectionate girl who absolutely loves attention from people. If there are pets and cuddles available, she's happy to accept them from anyone willing to give them. Her cheerful nature and sweet personality make her the kind of dog who naturally brings smiles wherever she goes. She has excellent manners and already knows several commands, including: Sit Come / Here Get Down Focus Roll Over Shake Maria does not jump up and is very respectful when interacting with people. She is also already potty trained and clearly understands the basics of living in a home environment. With other dogs, Maria is wonderful and has a very motherly instinct. She enjoys playing with both dogs and humans and adapts well to different personalities. She's patient, socially aware, and respectful-able to read the room and respond appropriately to the energy around her. She does enjoy rough-and-tumble play, so she'd likely appreciate dog friends who enjoy an active play style. Cats don't seem to bother her at all. She may give them a quick sniff but then calmly goes about her business without concern. Maria is a smart girl who redirects easily and genuinely wants to please her handler. She's receptive to guidance and enjoys learning, which makes her a wonderful companion for a family who wants a dog that listens and engages. She is also very relaxed around her food and toys-she is not possessive or reactive if people are near her bowl or handling her toys. Maria is truly a special dog: loving, patient, playful, and incredibly devoted. After raising her puppies and overcoming a rough start, she deserves a home where she can finally be the one getting all the love and attention. She's ready to become a cherished member of a family and share her joyful spirit every day
