Lulu is a Moyan Sheepadoodle (miniature poodle and English Sheepdog) who is 6 1/2 years old and currently weighs 55 lbs. Yes, Lulu is obese and is in need to lose some weight. Lulu is an owner surrender. They no longer can provide the care and exercise she needs. They are heartbroken, however, agree another family can provide better care for her. Lulu has some health issues besides being overweight. Due to the wrong food, she would develop bladder stones (Struvite stones) causing multiple UTIs before diagnoses. With a special urinary diet it is under control. But Lulu will have to remain on this special diet for the rest of her life. Lulu also has some reported allergies, mostly seasonal during Spring and Summer. But looking at the treats she was receiving daily, those could also have contributed towards the itching. Best is to keep her on low phosphorus dog food and more holistic treats to help with the health issues. Otherwise, Lulu is a happy and healthy pup. She will need daily exercise to help with the weight-loss. Lulu used to go to doggie day care when she was a puppy, but they stopped taking her during the shutdown of COVID pandemic. We think Lulu will be fine with other dogs with proper introduction and acclimation period. Lulu grew up with small children and has done well with children all ages in the past. She also lived with a cat. She is a friendly gal. Lulu is not used to playing with toys nor was she allowed on the furniture. She is crate-trained and house-trained. She walks well on the leash but always behind her human during the walks. Lulu will need professional grooming multiple times a year, and at home daily brushing will help keeping her coat beautiful. If you find Lulu would be a good fit for your family, and you can provide the care needed as discussed above, please reply to this post or send us an email at [email protected]
