Courtesy Posting: URGENT AT PHOENIX, AZ - ID #4157 - 'NORMAN' AT MASH (Maricopa Animal Safe Haven), part of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office - previously abandoned on the Tonopah reservation with another dog- who can help and provide a forever home for either or both (they do fine separated or together)? Fosters may also be needed if they need rescue- Super Senior! Estimated to be 8-10 years young, 45 lbs, super sweet, dog friendly, cat friendly, Chow/shepherd/golden retriever looking mixes We are in urgent need of finding a responsible forever home or foster for dear 'Norman' as well as his friend or brother Preston who is posted separately, the two do not need to necessarily stay together. They are sadly from an abandonment case and came in with a third dog who sadly already passed away from medical conditions. Norman and Preston are now at MASH who exists to house, care for, and rehabilitate animals involved in cruelty, neglect, and abuse investigations. They provide safe housing for daily care and rehabilitation, both medically and behaviorally, for the animals that are a part of those investigations. Mash describes them as 'Good w/ dogs/cats/kids: Good with all. Behavior: Very friendly. No resource guarding, walk well, very happy dogs.' They further described Norman as 'a calm and laid-back dog who needs a little time to warm up to new people. Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys gentle pets and appreciates affection. He's good with other dogs and is looking for a patient owner who can give him the time he needs to settle in and trust.' They provided videos the dogs interacting with one another: IMG_0094.MOV - Google Drive IMG_0095.MOV - Google Drive They also brought each dog into one of their cat cells and said, 'both showed no interest in the cats' and they provided us nice videos of the interactions and did great with them: IMG_0096.MOV - Google Drive Other than earlier tummy issues associated with kennel stress that he wa given probiotics for, Norman has no noted medical issues. A full copy of medical notes are available. If you'd like to meet Norman and see if he's the right fit for your family, please call 602-876-1212 to set up a meet and greet. Come meet this lovable boy and consider giving him the forever home he deserves! Please ask for him by ID.
