Woodlawn, Virginia (willing to drive up to 6 hours). 3 Y/O FEMALE GSD (DOB: 3/27/2022). Has papers to register! Her name is 'Della Mae'. Background: Della Mae has been with her Current Shepherd Parent since she was weaned from a breeder. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids. Good with MALE dogs (please read below). Unknown with cats. House trained. Currently being kept outside and sleeps in the carport. Crate trained UNKNOWN, she is currently living outside and sleeps in the carport. Any known medical issues?: None known. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None reported. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Medium. Weighs 70 lbs. Currently on Purina Dog Chow Lamb. Good with car rides?: Unknown - sometimes gets car sick, sometimes does okay. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Not often, but does well with male dogs in the home. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Toys, playtime, attention, lovins, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, playing with kids, balls, fetch, sleeping in bed with her person, being near her person, treats, Kong Jumbler ball, Chuck-It toys. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): No. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: No. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'She is an amazing dog! She is super smart and learns very very quickly. She's not great with recall when she's outside because she gets really excited, but I have no doubt that with a little bit of work this would not be a problem at all. She does great on our underground fence and does great indoors. She is full-blooded and would be able to be registered, I have all the paperwork for her to be registered, I just never got around to doing it because it wasn't something that was super important to me. She does relatively well on a leash but at first, she does pull some because she gets really excited. She hasn't been around a ton of children, but the ones that she has been around she's done well with. She just has a lot of energy. I just want her to be with somebody who will love her and treat her like family!!! I will miss her greatly, but I hope that she can be the perfect dog for someone!!!' Re Homing because�'�|: Della Mae and the other household female dog are attacking each other and fighting. The Current Shepherd Parent is pregnant and unable to continue managing separation between two females in the home while her husband is at work. We believe this may be female-to-female aggression, as Della Mae does well with the other male household dogs and will most likely be fine living with male dogs.
