About Bubba

Bubba is a sweet 5 year old boy who needs a home where he can get lots of attention and cuddles! Unfortunately, something in or near our yard causes a severe allergic reaction. We've been trying to manage symptoms, but we just can't fight it without removing the underlying cause. He never had this problem at our other homes, including one here in WA. He currently has several open sores from scratching. We have a special shampoo and are also treating a potential yeast infection. All of these issues stem from the underlying allergy. He is also allergic to all fowl, so he's used to eating Beef or Lamb food. The reaction from chicken causes some redness and itchiness on his belly, but no serious side affects like whatever this plant allergy is. Beyond that, Bubba is an excitable pup who will let you know when someone walks by. He knows basic commands, but hasn't had much leash time or socialization in the past 3.5 years. He has shown some food aggression towards other animals (we have cats and another dog), but not to humans. We believe Bubba would do well in a home by himself where he can be the center of attention while he heals. He loves to cuddle and be near us as often as possible. He is normally a pretty even tempered dog, but his current allergic reaction has caused him to become aggressive quicker. We believe this will return to normal once he's no longer constantly itchy. We truly love our big dumb dog, but we don't have the means to address whatever this allergy might be. We want him to find a family that will take good care of him as he heals and returns to his normal self.
