About RAYA

LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY - Within 1 hour of Pensacola, FL RAYA is a 2-month-old, 5 pound Chihuahua mix who came to us as an owner surrender along with her brother, Remy. The two had been left on their own much of the time with very little handling or puppy training. They were just babies trying to figure things out for themselves and we were so happy to bring them into rescue to help them find a new family. RAYA is the more social of the pair and genuinely likes people. She can be a little hesitant with strangers at first, but with patience and a gentle approach, she warms up nicely. She will need a family willing to give her time to settle and continue building her confidence. She likes to play with toys and enjoys a good game of tug of war with her foster mom and foster siblings. RAYA would be happiest (and best) in a home with a playful dog friend. She truly enjoys canine companionship and loves to romp and wrestle. An outgoing dog close to her age and size will help her become more socialized and confident in her new home. She would likely do well with older children. Cats are unknown. RAYA is still very much a puppy and is working on potty training. She will need continued structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. She can be vocal and does bark, so she is probably not the best fit for apartment living. At night, RAYA sleeps in a puppy pen with her foster siblings. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
