TIME SENSITIVE - SAMMI NEEDS A HERO BY MARCH 3 AT 4PM Sammi (A285864) will be euthanized March 3rd at 4PM if a committed adopter or rescue does not step forward. He is running out of time, and he desperately deserves a chance to live. Sammi is a 3-year-old, 45lb neutered Am Staff mix who lost his home through no fault of his own. He was surrendered after a senior female dog in the home began bullying him. His previous owners shared that he is housebroken, friendly with men, women, and children (including toddlers and infants), active and loves being outdoors, and very cuddly in the home. The shelter environment has been incredibly hard on him. Sammi is experiencing extreme kennel stress. He vocalizes and paces when there is constant noise and activity around him. Since intake, he has lost nearly 10 pounds. He is not coping in a kennel - but that does not define who he is in a home. Medically, He has been diagnosed with Valley Fever and will need ongoing treatment. An abscess on his hind leg is struggling to heal in the shelter setting. All medications will be provided to his adopter. Sammi was reported to be friendly with other dogs in his previous home, though he has not successfully integrated with dogs in the stressful shelter environment. He will need slow introductions and time to decompress. Right now, what he needs most is peace, stability, and someone willing to give him a real chance. He is deteriorating in the shelter, but there is still hope if someone steps up now.
