Jack was left at my farm by an elderly family member who couldn't handle him in the city. He is your typical heeler, he needs constant stimulation or he sounds like an grumpy old man and gets a little teeth happy. We have had a little over a month now to get to know him. Jack enjoys car rides, head scratches, walks, peanut butter, hot dogs and constant attention. He does not like collars, being forcibly restrained, the kennel ,being left alone for long periods of time or the vacuum cleaner, though we are working on that one. We feel the perfect home for him would be a farm or a retiree who wants a ride along buddy. He prefers men. Due to occasional biting issues when startled, or things are put on/over his head, we do not recommend a family with kids. We would keep him, but we currently have 10 dogs for our goat farm, I frequently watch my small grandchildren and my vet does not recommend this breed for herding our goats and I trust her opinion. However, it should be noted, he does show some good herding instincts and learns commands fairly well with food treats. He will be 2 years old in July.
