Meet Howard ժ Howard is one of seven puppies born around December 27th to our 37 pound Australian Shepherd mix mama, Frankie. He currently weighs about 9 pounds and is expected to grow into a spirited medium sized adult. If this litter had a daredevil, it would be Howard. He's the puppy who is first to investigate a new toy, leap into a pile of leaves, or charge ahead on a little adventure. Nothing slows him down-Howard's curiosity and energy are boundless, and he approaches every day like it's a new playground waiting to be explored. Howard loves playing with his littermates and will happily lead the charge into puppy romps. He's confident, outgoing, and thrives on interaction, whether it's with his siblings, humans, or new experiences. A family who can match his energy and enthusiasm will have a lifelong adventuring partner in Howard. He is doing well with housetraining, but like all young puppies, he will need close supervision and frequent trips outside as he continues to learn. Consistent training and positive reinforcement will help Howard channel his high-spirited curiosity into good habits. Howard would prefer a physically fenced yard where he can safely zoom, explore, and satisfy his adventurous nature. He will thrive in a home ready to provide plenty of playtime, structure, and fun-filled adventures. Howard is ready to meet adopters now and will be ready to move to his new home on March 7th when he is 10 weeks old. He will be neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and have received two of the three required distemper/parvo vaccinations. His adopters will be responsible for his third distemper/parvo booster and his rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age. If you're looking for a puppy who will turn every day into an adventure, Howard is ready to lead the way. To meet Howard, please fill out an adoption application at furfunrescue.org. Questions? Email [email protected] or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption fee: $300.
