Charlotte Needs a Foster or Adopter by 3/21/26 to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin Charlotte is currently at a kill shelter in Georgia and needs a foster or adopter to secure her spot on the 3/21/26 transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. A committed and qualified home is required for her to make the trip. Meet Charlotte. She is a stunning 1-2 year old Belgian Malinois who somehow ended up as a stray. No microchip, no one looking for her - which is hard to believe once you meet her. From the very beginning, she has been electric: smart, intense, and deeply focused. She's the kind of dog who locks eyes with you as if she's waiting for direction, ready to take on whatever task you give her. Athletic and incredibly intelligent, she embodies exactly what this working breed was designed to be. Shortly after arriving at the shelter, Charlotte tested positive for parvo. Treatment began immediately, and there were days when her survival was uncertain. She was weak and listless, fighting a tough battle. One day, while she lay resting, we handed her a tennis ball. If you know Malinois, you understand what that means. Her eyes lit up, her tail moved, and the spark returned. From that moment forward, she fought - and she won. Charlotte beat parvo and medically cleared, ready for her next chapter. However, Charlotte is not a beginner's dog. She is not suited for a casual pet home. She is a high-drive working dog who requires structure, leadership, and daily mental and physical engagement. After being confined during her treatment and recovery, kennel life is beginning to frustrate her. That frustration is not a flaw in her temperament - it is a reflection of her drive and need for purpose. She needs consistent training, outlets for her energy, and a clear job to do. We will require any potential adopter to have prior Belgian Malinois or working dog experience and provide references. Charlotte must go to someone who understands the breed's intensity, work ethic, and training needs. She would excel in agility, scent work, detection, advanced obedience, or with an experienced handler seeking a dedicated working partner. She needs someone confident, structured, and committed to continuing her development. Charlotte survived parvo and fought hard to live. Now she needs an experienced, capable handler to give her the mission she deserves.
