WINSTON is a handsome 1%BD%BD%BD%BD-year-old, 20 pound Cocker Spaniel who came to us when his previous owner's schedule no longer allowed the time he deserves. This affectionate, energetic boy is ready for a loving, active home. WINSTON absolutely loves people and thrives on attention, activity, and interaction. He is very sweet, generous with kisses, and happiest when he's included in his person's daily life. Toys and fetch are his favorite things and he'll happily bring the ball back and drop it at your feet for another round. WINSTON would be perfectly fine as an only dog, soaking up all the attention but he can live with a non-alpha female, as he can be a bit bossy at times (pretty typical Cocker personality). He is not good with male dogs and has not been tested with cats. Because of his enthusiasm and tendency to jump when excited, we recommend a home with children age 10 or older. WINSTON is mostly housebroken but may mark briefly in a new environment while settling in, which is common. With consistency and structure, he does well. He enjoys running and playing, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal. He does have a big bark and may show mild separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. He's not a good fit for an apartment. At night, WINSTON loves sleeping in the big bed with his person but will also settle nicely in a kennel if needed. WINSTON is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
