About Riley

Riley is a petite little lady who at first showcases typical Chihuahua vibes...the side eye, the shaking, and don't poke her bubble if you're not that close!! But on the inside, past that initial shell, she is truly a calm spirit and a loyal heart. At around 4 years old and just 11 pounds, she's the perfect size for couch cuddles and being your constant little shadow. At home, she is an absolute love bug. Strangers? Meh...not her thing. She can be a bit shy at first, but she warms up quickly with patience and kindness, it took her less than a day to build trust with her foster family. Once she bonds, she truly bonds. Riley will happily follow you around when you get home, settle next to you on the couch, and soak up all the belly rubs you're willing to give. Riley is mostly potty trained and will also use a pee pad. She is crate trained and actually loves her crate, it's her safe space. Because of that, she can be protective of it and prefers other dogs to respect her boundaries, especially around her crate or when she's relaxing on the couch. She does fine with proper introductions but may be happiest as the only dog in the home. She isn't very interested in playtime with other dogs and has a more independent, relaxed personality. She's a very chill, quiet girl who isn't particularly treat or toy motivated. She doesn't love getting leashed up (she plays hard to get), but once she's out, she does just fine on walks and truly enjoys them. Truthfully, her favorite activities are hanging out in her crate if you are busy or not home or relaxing on the couch near her person and following you around. She is not the type of dog who wants to go to the vets willingly, stores, outings, etc. She'll wait in peace for you at home. Riley would do best in a low energy home with adults only. She is not recommended for kids who don't know personal space and body language. She'd thrive with a single person or couple looking for a devoted, laid back companion and willing to give her a little patience at the beginning while she settles in and gets to know you. If you're looking for a calm, loyal little best friend who just wants to be near you and live a peaceful life, Riley may be your perfect match.
