Julia AKA 'Lyra' is an approximately 2 year old beautiful petite German Shepherd who was rescued when she was found as a pregnant stray and taken to a Texas shelter where she gave birth. When her number was up and euthanasia was scheduled only two hours later, FRGSR stepped in and saved her and her six puppies. This amazing family came to Colorado for foster and now are all looking for their forever homes. Julia is exceptionally sweet and a terrific Mom. Julia rarely barks and loves to lounge in sunny spots dreaming of her new Colorado life. She especially loves to lay down outside and smell the air and watch the birds. She is small for her breed at only around 50 pounds. Julia is housetrained & not at all destructive when left alone in the home. It is unknown how she does with other dogs and cats as she is being fostered in a home without animals at this time. She seems to be non-reactive to wildlife and dogs walking by. She is heartworm positive and that will require a couple of months of treatment and activity restriction. Julia will likely take well to this as she is exhausted from raising six puppies and is very calm. She walks perfectly on a leash and is mostly just interested in her human. It's time for this beautiful sweet Mama to land her forever home. The family is currently being fostered near Buena Vista, CO. https://www.frgsr.org/available-dogs
