About Nellie Bell

Hello everyone! My name is Nellie Bell but I usually just go by Nellie. I'm a 3 year old treeing walker coonhound and 65 pounds of pure personality! I am all goofy hound, which you will understand if you're a hound person. I love to follow my nose and check out everything, and I mean everything! It doesn't matter if you think it's out of reach; it's really not. I often still think I'm a puppy so I have a lot of energy. I love to eat and I love attention. I like to chew on bones/chew toys, and tear up stuffies and my bed! Blankets are safer as they have no stuffing. I enjoy lying on the couch and having my tummy rubbed, or my head and ears scratched, or my buns scratched. But I sometimes have a short attention span and may jump up for zoomies. I would do best with an active person or family with older children. I'm a little klutzy sometimes so I may knock over little people even though I like them. Actually, I pretty much like everone as long as they're not mean to me. A fenced yard where I could run would be nice, as would a doggy playmate. Although I'd rather be inside with you, I really need an outlet for my energy. I'm a lover girl looking for someone who will appreciate my houndy goofiness and have good outlets for my high energy. Could you be my person? Pretty, please? Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
