Scooby Gru URGENT! Scooby Gru looks sad in this photo and he has every reason to be. At apx 7 y/o, he hasn't had an easy life, and this past year has been even worse. This 85 lb. Anatolian Shepherd mix found himself in a high kill southern shelter on the euthanasia list for lack of space. He was saved by a Rescue and then bounced between multiple boarding places while they searched desperately for a Foster or an Adopter. Then finally, just when it seemed that his luck was about to change for the better, it took a turn for the worse as he finds himself once again in the care of animal control. This poor guy needs somebody that's committed and willing to be patient and give him a chance. He is very fearful of strangers, and who can blame him? He has been let down time and again. Humans have not been very good to him, and when he finds one that is, he wants to cling to and protect them and not share them with anyone else. But now he finds himself once again terrified, alone, and facing possible euthanasia if his hero doesn't step up. Because of his fearfulness, he needs to go to a home with someone experienced with large breeds, who is patient, and can give him the time he needs to decompress and gain his trust. He also needs to be the solo dog in the home (he is social with other dogs in neutral territory, but inside the home he wants to be king of the castle). We think he may have been a farm guard dog at some point as he seems to be fine around all other animals. ***** If you can help Scooby Gru by fostering or adopting, please text/call Aly at 732-604-0635 ASAP ***** We also have additional photos and videos we can share with you.
