MASON, OHIO (willing to drive up to 300 MILED). 3.5 Y/O FEMALE GSD (DOB: 4/25/22). Her name is 'Lady'. Background: Lady was rescued 6 months ago from a severely abusive home. She was improperly shocked with an e-collar and young children were witnessed poking her in the face with sticks and jumping/riding her. She was extremely underweight and emaciated when rescued. Her Current Shepherd Parent has rehabilitated her back to health and stability. UTD on shots WITHOUT record. Fixed. NOT Good with YOUNG kids (VERY SCARED OF THEM. (Good with older respectful children, but MUST be in a home with NO young children due to Trauma History and Fear.) Good with dogs. Good with cats. House trained. Crate trained UNKNOWN (does not currently use crate, kept in laundry room when alone) but will come with one). Any known medical issues?: NO Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Yes. Severe abuse involving e-collar misuse and mistreatment by young children + Previously emaciated. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Low. Weighs 75 lbs. Currently on Diamond High Energy & Sport Blend dog food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Limited. Not well socialized with new people. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Takes time. She is very skittish and may growl while on guard until she realizes you are not a threat. Slow, structured introductions REQUIRED. Once she realizes that you are not a threat, she is very affectionate Loves: Chin scratches, sitting on your lap, giving hugs (trained command - paws on chest), Eskimo kisses, goat cheese, snacks, cuddling, walks, playing with respectful kids and dogs, chew toys, tug, being brushed, chilling on the couch, sleeping in bed with her person, being near her person at all times. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: Yes. Professionally trained. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes - excellent recall. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: Very affectionate once bonded. *Eager and fast learner?: Yes. Bite History?: Minor nip. She nipped a teenage boy who approached and tried to pet her while she was fearful and growling. Fear-based reaction. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'She is a beautiful and loving dog. She may have some irritating quirks (who doesn't?) but at the end of the day, she just wants to love and be loved. You will not find a more loyal and loving companion' She is not gentle when hand fed and needs training in that area - do NOT hand feed until properly worked with. No e-collars. She is very afraid of getting her nails trimmed, but she needs them done ASAP. Re Homing because�'�|: The Current Shepherd Parent's landlord has imposed a strict rule of having no more than two dogs and she already has her two GSDs; she rescued Lady from a horrible situation, and now needs to find Lady her Furever Home. Lady will be a great companion for the right person. Will thrive best�'�|?: In an adult-only home or home with older, respectful children. With someone patient, experienced, calm, and committed to continuing confidence building. She bonds deeply and wants to be near her person. Someone who will not use an e-collar. Comes with: Collar, leash, crate, blanky, food.
