RICKY BOBBY is a 1-year-old, 13.5 pound Chihuahua mix who was found as a stray in December. After efforts to find the owner were unsuccessful we were asked to take him. RICKY BOBBY is a fun, friendly guy who warms up quickly once he knows you. He is cautious with strangers at first, giving off stranger danger vibes, but once he sniffs a hand and gets a friendly hello, he's all about head scratches, kisses, and enthusiastic tail wags. He loves greeting his people at the door and being part of whatever you're doing. He may bark briefly when you leave but settles quickly, though he would not do well being left alone for hours. RICKY BOBBY does well with most other dogs, including at the dog park, and could live happily either as an only dog or with a canine companion close to his size or a little bigger depending on the household and the dog. He hasn't been around cats. Because he's strong, energetic, and can be a jumper, a home with older kids (10+) would be best. He thrives on activity, playtime, and interaction and will need an engaged, active owner who will provide him with adventure and exercise. RICKY BOBBY has good potty habits when kept on a schedule and is an early riser who likes to head out first thing in the morning. He walks on leash but can pull when something catches his attention, so continued training will help. A fenced yard is ideal since he loves to run, chase leaves and squirrels, and burn off energy. He enjoys toys, especially sturdy ones like Kongs or other tough chew toys, and absolutely loves tug-of-war with his person. At night, RICKY BOBBY is a certified cuddle bug who tunnels under the covers to sleep and is happiest close to his person. He also enjoys lap time between play sessions, making him a wonderful mix of active companion and affectionate snuggler. RICKY BOBBY is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
