Charlie was pulled from a rural shelter in Louisiana, due to be euthanized Oct 2023. Fostered with six other dogs until Jan 2024, when placed in forever home. A year later, was picked up by Animal Control after being hit by a car- new owner never looked for him, nor updated his microchip. Had extensive injuries, lost an eye; had developed anxiety issues, manifested as resource guarding, which causes issues with our senior male dogs. Has attended training classes, and also boarded and trained for ten weeks. Charlie is best being an only dog, but could be ok with an assertive and nonreactive female, a puppy or a cat. Currently muzzle training to prepare for socialization practice. Sensitive boy takes treats very gently, excellent with leash running and walking. Behaves well in social settings, vet's office. OK in home when alone. Takes Prozac daily for mental health, this is ESSENTIAL and must be continued. Very loving and protective of his family and his home. About three years old.
