Hello, I'm reaching out to request assistance with an owner surrender for a 7%BD'%BD%BDyear%BD'%BD%BDold Shorkie named Treasure. I've had her for about three months, and while she is very sweet in the home, she has significant reactivity toward other dogs. When she sees another dog, she becomes extremely overstimulated and pulls on her leash. This has escalated to the point where she has redirected that intensity toward me during attempts to restrain her. I want to ensure she is placed somewhere equipped to handle her needs safely. I am unable to provide the level of behavioral support she requires, and I'm concerned for both her safety and the safety of others. Treasure is spayed, up to date on rabies vaccinations, (need to hear from previous owner on other shots) and comes with food, treats, toys, bowls, and bedding. I am not seeking a fee-just a safe and appropriate placement for her. Below is a brief behavioral summary: Dog: Winnie Breed: Shorkie Age: 7 Weight: ~17 lbs Spayed: Yes Vaccines: Up to date with rabies.of others. Health: No known medical issues Strengths: - Very sweet and affectionate indoors - Enjoys being near her person - Housebroken - Good with routine and structure Behavioral Concerns: - Reactivity toward other dogs (barking, lunging, pulling) - Has escaped once and attempts to escape standard leashes - Has redirected intensity toward handler during high arousal - Unsafe around other dogs in close proximity - Needs a behavior%BD'%BD%BDexperienced foster or adopter Reason for Surrender: I cannot safely manage her reactivity and want to ensure she is placed in an environment equipped to support her needs. Please let me know if your rescue is able to help or if you can recommend another organization that may be a good fit. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best, KJ
