Nino is a 2-year-old neutered male (possibly Rhodesian Ridgeback mix) who is current on vaccinations and crate-trained. He is house-trained when supervised and does well with structure and consistency. He has lived successfully in a home with a young child and has always been calm and gentle in that setting. He is also very good with our cat. They are friendly, playful, and comfortable resting together, including sharing space in his crate without issue. Nino is protective of his home and family and has shown guarding tendencies, particularly toward unfamiliar adult men. Because of this, he would do best in an adult-only home or with an experienced handler who understands guardian-type breeds and is comfortable managing protective behaviors. He bonds closely with his primary person and is loyal and alert. He would thrive in a low-traffic home with a fenced yard and consistent leadership. He has no known major medical issues. He has had occasional mild skin/yeast sensitivity that has been manageable with routine care. This decision is being made thoughtfully to ensure he is placed in a home that is the right long-term fit for him.
