Midas has been a great dog, but he does not have the same temperament with my wife and she can lose patience with him. I selected Mastiff, but he is mixed with Cane Corso, but his appearance and temperament are much more aligned with Rhodesian Ridgeback. He is just under 80 pounds and the picture shows him standing and able to rest his head on a normal sized kitchen table. Midas has been socialized since I first got him at 8 weeks old. I took him to dog parks, home depot, dog stores, and he has been around kids and cats for most of his life. But my kids are getting older now and don't play with him as much. He is not able to sleep in the bed with me any longer and we have somewhat broken his habit of laying on the couch, but I know he would love to lay with us on the couch. I think he needs younger, more energetic kids or another dog companion and we just don't have the space for that. As sad as it makes me to want a better home for him, I know it is what is best for him. A bigger yard to run around in with other dogs or needing to be in protection mode (following from room to room) is when he is at his happiest.
