About Barley

Barley is a 4 year old Black Mouth Cur (not confirmed via Genetic testing, but this is what we were told by a vet). He is extremely sweet, cuddly, and wants to please you! He loves to run around in our backyard chasing squirrels, and barking at birds and bugs. He is really a giant goofball! He has absolutely 0 spatial awareness. We adopted him after fostering thru AAC, when his initial adopter fell thru. We really didn't have plans for a 2nd dog, and about 8 months later, found out I was pregnant. He could be really good with older children, babies and toddlers are not safe around him - he will plow thru them without a second thought. Unfortunately, my husband and I both have very demanding jobs, and do not have the time or energy to give him the exercise/stimulation he needs to thrive. He has gotten into a couple fights with our older dog (scary, but nothing requiring vet visits for either of them). Intros to other dogs should be done on-leash, in neutral territory, and SLOWLY. Asking for a rehoming fee of $100 - he will come with a XL crate, his well loved dog bed, a few blankets, and whatever food we have left for him.
