Khal is a big, affectionate sweetheart whose main love language is physical touch, if you've got hands for pets and snuggles...he's all in. He is the perfect blend of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. He loves toys, hiking, zooming around the yard, and splashing in water, whether it's a kiddie pool or just the hose. Khal is incredibly well trained and knows sit, stay, heel, come, shake, and lay down, and he patiently waits for his meals until given the 'okay.' He's off-leash trained for hikes, crate trained (and eats happily in his crate on command), doggy-door trained, and even keeps his potty habits neatly to one area of the yard. He does great with other dogs, has been wonderful with a baby, walks nicely alongside a stroller, and truly loves kids. Khal can be a little shy when meeting new people (usually men) but give him a gentle pet and he quickly becomes your loyal best friend. He does have some issues with resource guarding, so we would feel most comfortable with him being the only dog in the home unless someone were experienced with that behavior. But it is very manageable by feeding him in his crate and not leaving bones / toys out when other dogs are present. Otherwise he gets along and plays very well with dogs and people. His previous foster said he was very respectful around their cats.
