Dexter is a English shepherd husky mix Dexter is a very silly and playful dog with a big personality. He loves to play with his toys and gets very excited, especially outside. He really enjoys jumping and diving into snowbanks and has a lot of energy. He is affectionate and will follow you around the house-he even likes to wait in the bathtub while you're in the bathroom. Once he realizes it's not playtime, he will lay down and settle, but he is generally very hyper and energetic. Because of his high energy, jumping, and because he can be mouthy when excited and is still learning gentle manners, he would do best in a home without young children. He pulls on the leash and is very excited on walks, so he may do best with a runner or secure outdoor setup where he can safely play and burn off energy. He would thrive with an active owner who can give him exercise and continue training. He has lived in a home with cats. He is curious about them and will try to play and may bark at them, He would do best with dog-savvy cats or with supervision while he continues learning calm manners around cats. Yes, he is a puppy and yes, he needs training and time-but we have a toddler, and he does not do well with young children. For everyone's safety, he needs to be rehomed ASAP. We only took him in to help an older couple and truly tried our best. We are just looking for the right home for him. I have called multiple places and told no room or we can't help because we can't safely rehome him because he's not good with small kids. A few places told us and the dog catcher if we can't rehome him our best option is to put him down. Rehoming fee $120 is negotiable we just wanna make sure someone really wants him and will take great care of him.
