(willing to drive up to 2 HRS ). 4 Y/O FEMALE AKC REGISTERED GSD (DOB: 11/18/21). Her name is ' RIVER'. Background: The Current Shepherd Parent adopted River through me 2 years ago. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. GOOD with kids. SEEMS OK with dogs, exposed to them at the vet and does well. NOT Good with cats, CHASES. House trained. NOT Crate trained, Good behavior to Free Roam the home when left alone. Any known medical issues?:NO . Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?:YES. Has a history of being in an abusive situation of being kept caged outside. ENERGY LEVEL:HIGH . PREY DRIVE LEVEL: HIGH. Weighs 65 lbs. Currently on 'Dry + chicken and scrambled eggs' food. Good with car rides?: YES. Socialized with: *people?: YES. *dogs?: YES. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): She is very protective / territorial of her home / territory, but she does well meeting people outside of her home / territory once she realizes they are not a threat. Her barking is intimidating to some people. Loves: her person - her people - running - chew toys - ice chips in the summer - her home - cuddling - walks - chilling on the couch if she is allowed - balls - fetch - Kongs - indestructible toys - squeaky toys - chew bones - sweet potato treats. ( currently not allowed on furniture but absolutely loved it when she was allowed) - playing in snow - playing with kids. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): YES. *Good on a Leash?:YES . *Lovable?: YES. *Eager and fast learner?:YES. Bite History?:NO. She has nipped strangers as a warning that this is her home/territory, but no actual 'bites'. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'She needs to burn off energy, loves to play outside, when tired, she curls up on her bed or next to the couch. She does not like thunderstorms, fireworks or loud noises. She's a sweet girl that I got out of a bad situation. I love her so much but she needs more than I can give... she needs a family'. Re Homing because�'�|: River is very territorial of her home/property/person and the Current Shepherd Parent is not able to handle the situation and it's to the point that her family will no longer visit because River is intimidating. River is high energy and needs lots of exercise that the Current Shepherd Parent is not able to accommodate for River to truly thrive.. River will be a great companion for the right person. Will thrive best�'�|?: in a loving home with someone who can work with River through her Protective / Territorial Issues and possibly safely socialize her more around strangers OR someone who wants/needs a good protective guard dog that does not have a lot of visitors coming and going.
