About Ranger von Raisdorf

Ranger von Raisdorf is a beautiful 4 year old red and black German Shepherd. Ranger shows so well at the rescue, he seems like the perfect dog, but once in a home, he tends to get very protective of his new people, including on walks. He needs a loving, but in-charge home with people who reinforce his training. He is from a breeder, we have his AKC papers. He was most likely bred to have a job. He needs someone strong mentally, as well as physically, who can guide him and make him into the amazing dog we see so doesn't feel the need to guard. In Ranger's head, he is trying to prove his worth to his new people, so he just needs to know that you have things handled. Smart and very treat-motivated, Ranger is housebroken, knows his Sit and Down commands. With his medium energy level, he can start going on walks once his new handler is in control. He does need to be the only pet. He loves playing with toys and even loves to swim. If you have what it takes, Ranger can become the most devoted dog you've ever had.
