About Baron von Borkum

Baron von Borkum is a very handsome 14 month-old German Shepherd with a stunning black face. ���Baron has so much to offer for someone seeking a very smart and perceptive dog who does great with other dogs and would love a playmate. Housebroken and with good house manners, he quickly picks up new routines. Per a foster: 'He is affectionate, observant and inquisitive and extremely smart. Did not touch anything in the house. Was introduced to each room and told no if it was off limits. He then never attempted to enter those rooms. He did not attempt to chew on anything or climb on any furniture. He enjoys watching cartoons. He sits or lays quietly in the evening near his people. He learned the normal sounds in the house quickly and alerted to unknown sounds....He loves to play fetch for hours but will play by himself for hours also. He enjoys balls, chew toys and soft toys evenly. He enjoys game toys, such as getting food out of a ball...He loves listening to music and preferred laying next to the speaker for his naps. He loves water, will drink from the hose, run in the sprinklers, etc. He had no reaction to the lawn mower.' Baron is a young dog who needs an active lifestyle. He would need another playful dog in the home. He shines in playgroups at the rescue, greeting new friends with friendly play bows, and playing enthusiastically. (He's not for small dogs or cats.) A true shepherd, he does need an experienced home with secure leadership and proper introductions to new people. Baron was trying to be perfect in his first week in a home, but he was too zealous protecting his backyard when someone new came over. He wants to please with every part of his being, he just didn't know what was expected of him.
